Park Brake – Issues

  • Constant maintenance required
  • Increased GVM further exposes OE park brake weakness
  • Stretched park brake cables
  • Glazed rotor drums
  • Park brake shoes increased wear rate
  • Lever engagement is not consistent – The driver may not apply sufficient leverage

Key safety feature included

  • To Deactivate
  • Ignition must be in the on Position
  • Drivers Door must be closed
  • Drivers Seat Belt must be on*
  • Foot must be applied to the Brake Pedal
  • All descriptions above need to be in place before EPB can be de-activated with the switch.

EPB Auto-Activation 

  • Car Ignition turned off – EPB Activates 1.5 Sec later
  • When drivers door is opened
  • Auto placed in Park Position
  • Removing Drivers Seat Belt *

Note: Speed Rating safety feature will cut out all “auto-activate” features once vehicle is above 12km/h (+/-2km/h)”
